Nursery : Take 1

Tylee is 18 months and that means time for nursery! which is good timing considering these little boys will be here soon! The only problem is her first day (yesterday) was not so good. She woke up earlier than usual and was on the verge of falling asleep in sacrament. but we thought she would be just fine because the sight of other kids winds her right back up! Too bad when you walk through that door, all the other little kids are screaming because their mom and dad left them. and well, not only does tylee cry when she sees other kids crying, she wasn't too happy when darren left her and was no where in sight (i was watching through the window) She was screaming and all these other kids were screaming (there are like 15 kids in our ward's nursery!) so i went ahead and walked in and consoled Tylee for a short minute. I had to go teach my lesson so Darren played with her for a minute. Darren was told to go ahead and leave and so he did and she was not happy. As we were switching to sharing time, i peaked my head in and i could tell she had been crying because her face was red and she was sniffling! but since she had calmed down, i walked past. About 10 minutes left of church, the nursery lady came and got me and said they couldn't get Tylee to calm down. So I went and got her, splotchy red face, snot nose and all. Dangit.... maybe next time will be a better experience for her! i sure hope so!!!!

oh such a great and sad time. im a nursery leader, and i know that when parents just shove there kids in and leave its alot easier.. but if the parents stay and try to comfort their child it makes things harder. harder on your child and other children, and of course the nursery leaders. but maybe to help her ,bring a fav. toy... or a bag of snacks , and try to just drop her off and make sure to tell her you will be back. it will take a couple of weeks .just saying from experience. hope that didnt sound mean..... haha.
